Waterproof bib

Can anyone recommend a good quality waterproof bib?

saw this one at Kiwifit but seems expensive at £135+ vat

brother and I both have Flexothane. Think they are about £40 each? Last 18 months withou any barbed wire assistance! Keep wind and water out with room underneath for overalls etc. You still keep all movement in your legs too, I find these thicker ones restrict movement too much when chasing blackie lambs around!

Got some sealflex ones waterproof but you can get very warm in them

I’ve had the flexothene ones in the past. They are ok but split around the crotch area like their trousers but don’t hang off your arse like the trousers. Sealflex is better gear but don’t know if they do bib and brace

Yep. And matching jacket. Worth every penny in my view.

Went to check the farrowing sows one morning a while back, wearing my sweaty orrible flexothane bib, brace and jacket. By the time I got back, i was wet through to the gooch, and stayed that way for the rest of the day. Ordered kaiwaka the following week.

Had another very wet Sunday on a month or so ago. Just longjohns, vest and t shirt underneath, kaiwaka on top. Dry as dry can be come teatime, and comfy as hell (probably cos of no overalls as much as anything).

I love the fit and it feels like it will last forever, compared to anything else we've tried here over the years. Mentally it really helps face up to another cold, wet, windy, orrible day, just knowing I've got good gear.

Mobile phone pocket on the bib is brill. Bib is massive compared to flexothane. Pockets are good (haven't snagged them on anything yet!) but no access to your inner clothes, if you keep stuff in your trouser pocket for example. Not a problem for me as I bin off trousers/overalls when I wear this.

The winter jacket is fleece lined and as such, pretty warm on its own. The rest of the team used to have a 'wet weather' jacket and a 'cold weather' jacket each. Cold weather jackets were Barbour type, and always used to rip. Wet weather jackets were by Monsoon, and were sweaty and cumbersome for anything strenuous. Kaiwaka has both bases covered, and is better on all fronts.

If you're worried it may not be worth it, or want to make sure you get the right size, it may be worth giving Kiwikit a call. I did so, and the rep was here with a van full of gear within 24h.

Just do it. Did I mention I thought they were worth every penny?

My wife bought me a set a few weeks ago and I used them for the first time last week. Worked all day outside in the cold but was warm as toast in them,for the last hour I was outside it chucked it down and I was bone dry when I took them off. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Kaiwaka worth every penny they will outlast 5 pairs of flexothane just wear less underneath them!
