I got a pair of Haix steel toed boots through my old job that I was very impressed with. I didn't pay for them mind and I dare say they had a price tag to match their quality! Folks round here that do a lot of chainsaw work swear by Haix.

I wouldnt say that they are particularly expensive for what they are. I have a pair of the non safety cold / wet weather Haix combat boots, they have done six winters now and are still watertight.

Haix challenger 2, most comfortable boots I have tried, on my 3rd pair, only take them off to go to bed, last about 18 months, but they have a hard life. About £130 plus vat.

Several to choose from at Englebert Strauss. I get most of my boots from there in the last few years.

I am issued with Haix boots for coastguard . I hate them! Took me year to find the correct insole as they killed my feet. A few colleagues had the same. Too much pressure on your heels

Haix boots are notoriously slow to break in.
I used to have to use for a day the a few days off and repeat. Used to be Army issue.
Perhaps why many soldiers bought their own different make boots.

I'm wearing brand new cofras and I'm not at all impressed. Before these I was in amblers, they were great comfy & dry but only lasted bout 9 months.

Ordered some new walking boots and t shirts about a month ago. Usual excellent service, no problem at all.

NO.
Good leather safety boots are waterproof to a point but in time they will let in water. Lowa are good Dewalt are good too but even the very best are not waterproof for more than 4 hours of hard use in water.

I find most waterproof boots make my feet sweat more than others, thereby uncomfortable anyway.
