When moorhens build their nests low down close to the water, it will be a dry summer. But when they build high on the pond or in the bushes, expect a wet season. I took note of this last summer and they built a good 2 foot above the water table, when the water was at its highest piont it just touched the bottam of their nest

The blossom on my damson tree has been blown away for the last 4 years...........resulting in no damson gin for Christmas
