Welding gloves

What are people using for welding gloves? For mig and arc welding also oxy bottle work, the usual welding gauntlets from ag suppliers don’t seem to last very long, either go hard with the heat or the stitching goes on them or normally both, but mainly on left hand, so if any left handed welders out there have the same problem I have 4 decent RH gloves available 🙈

This place is good we use them for some things, they supply Harland and Wolff shipyard which is next door, really know their stuff.
If you only need one glove with good dexterity you could try this.

Ever tried welding left-handed! {just a thought}
I have a friend who broke his right wrist, he learnt to write left handed, and now he's practicing shooting clays left handed, and darts and fly fishing, reckons he feels much more balanced as a person...

Sell them? Just call them stove gloves and they will go.

I’m right handed but use my welding gloves mostly to load the log burning stove and hence have some (maybe three?) pairs where the right is hard and the left perfect still. I don’t do much welding and hence am building a stock up.

Fortunately Jnr is a leftie so should balance things up as he gets old enough to be trusted with the fire.

Interestingly they sell a left only glove, if you scroll down.
Seem to have more selection than I've ever seen.

I use the white leather TIG welding gloves, they are great, use them when doing any fab work, keep your hands warm and you can actually feel things through them, so putting nuts on bolts etc is easy, you don't have to take them off. I tend to get through about 4 pairs a year but am not welding full time!!

Same here. Gloves I use are “predator by Ron” nice quality. Do shrink a little. But have got through a dozen or so pairs over the years and stuck to them not found better.

Another vote for TIG gloves, I only do MIG welding and they fit better than big gauntlets and allow you to actually use your fingers, but I know they wouldn't be much use for stick welding or burning.

I still have an old chunky pair of gauntlets I use for MIG, but use TIG gauntlets for everything else hot in the workshop, including stick welding. Your hand is a lot further from the arc most of the time and never hold a continuous arc for as long as I can do MIG welding, so there isn't the same level of heat build up.

Treadstone pruners gloves here for workshop and most other jobs. The orange ones. About £16 and last quite well, once broken in very comfortable.
