Welger 220 net knife not tripping

Just tried our baler for the first time this season and the knife isn't tripping to cut the net wrap. When the first 1 came out still attached I thought I must not have held the hydraulics long enough to reset the knife after the last bale last year but the second did the same and I'm sure I did that time. I didn't hear the knife fall either time but when I pushed the quadrant by hand (gingerly) it fell with the proper force so it was tensioned. The handset is just back from David King after an intermittent fault last season and it's entirely possible the join between the handset and the baler wiring isn't quite 100% but it looked to be right and I thought the netting run and cut was mechanical once started?

Turned the roller drive belt by hand and the the quadrant moved and the knife tripped so am now even more confused why it failed in operation. Will set a camera up so I can watch it in the field and investigate further I think.

With respect to hydraulics I shut it and hold for 5 more seconds the put the handle back in the middle, not float.
Try leaving it in float. On the variables the door moves position as the bale builds and would pressurise the knife reset ram. Don't know about the fixed, but worth eliminating.

As far as I know the knife resets when the door opens to let the bale out, if you have put the net wrap in before using the baler you need to manually set the knife so it cuts first bale.

I would say this is correct the knife re sets before the door opens then on the shut you have to wait a second or 2 for the door latches to come down then into neutral. Also there should be 2 plugs down the right hand side so you can unplug the control box and power the net clutch with the sidelights to test it or get you out of trouble if the electrics go wrong you can keep baling

I think you are better leaving it in float TBH,I’ve had welger balers for 30 years and that’s what I’ve always done.
6 of one half a dozen of the other I guess personal preference I’d say. I like the lever easy to reach and not coming through the - to get to the +. As said I don’t think it matters as the tailgate has hooks I believe others rely on hydraulic rams to keep door shut

My 245 tornado net knife won't engage . I've wired in a negative feed through a switch to the motor when activated by switch motor works and triggers knife . Tried cleaning joints on connector made no difference when unplugged says broken wire when connected does not show broken wire msg on screen net clutch works OK I'm lost !!! Anyone else experiencing this ?

Thank you everyone for your suggestions - it is now working I think hand turning must have freed something, probably the quadrant drive bearing is on the way out but fingers crossed 🤞 it's OK for the moment
I had same problem at the end of the season last year as it would not cut every bale and I changed the one way bearing and seams to have solved the problem
