Well said Andrew Ward!

The NFU do own it. First signatory at the very beginning in 2003. It's in the induction document in the accounts

You can obviate with bringing the idea of new "owners" ergo signatorys but it doesn't change the fact the NFU first signatorys at setup and BRC second signature at set up. I think it's a pretence to claim ultimate responsibility is not with NFU

As suspected from the start with red tractor.
Government bans chemicals for British farmers so we can't grow certain crops like oil seed rape then imports foreign grown with use of banned chemicals then mixes together and uses in this country.
This must be illegal and must be investigated and stopped.
No farmer should allow any red tractor inspection until this is stopped.
Also allowing carbon limits on homegrown production and then shipping food from all over the world with no mention of the carbon used is just beyond belief.
If red tractor go down this route it should prove to farmers just what an enemy they really are.
I have never been fabbl or red tractor on principle and think i have been proved right.
But i only sell cattle through livestock markets and do appreciate arable farmers suffering the monopolies they have to endure .
We must all stick together and rid our industry from these parasites.
.A knighthood for andrew for actually talking sense .

I have a feeling Andrew has stuck his head out of the crowd and decided to run for president of NFU, he speaks all the correct things but and it is a big but we need action to represent farmers immediately, we cannot allow this RT debacle to just slowly go away.
Be very careful, that greasy pole is going to be very hard to climb and he needs good ' friends' with him.

So one of the people who could control Red Tractor from the start is about 10 years behind the curve.

He also expected government to reduce Red Tape when the organisation he helps control put in Red Tractor - NFU, BRC, AIC etc control Red Tractor NOT HMG.

TBH the guy doesn't even seem to understand what he is doing & what responsibility he has as a Councillor.

Great, he's partially woken up but still lives in a mind set where he doesn't accept his own actions - NFU is not fit for purpose.

Addendum:

I'd like to know in HIS business what benefit HE thinks any assurance scheme brings - I bet it's all "Perception" from end consumers because I know assurance schemes only waste my time & money.

My big issue is with the NFU, it still supports RT in some form or other......
You've only got to listen to what these YouTube farmers are saying and the way they are saying it.

This debacle will carry on. :banghead: :banghead:

Yes, he said that "assurance schemes are still needed" - I bet that's because of his prejudice about other UK farmers.

Most of the problems he highlighted with disease began with Westminster control of policy & supply companies - such as poults, FM release from laboratories, lower processing temperatures for rendering meat.

These people WANT to control UK farmers THAT is the source of Red Tractor.
