I can’t say that i’ve Come across anyone that has that view, leastways as a reason for voting leave.:scratchhead:
That just means you don't get out enough?

Anouk, the Dutch student, has already indicated that her preliminary findings on her survey of farmers' voting was that 'leave' farmer-voters expected UK farmers generally to be worse off if 'leave' occurred, but themselves better off.

It's an ugly situation.

Here's the verbatim:

''From the analyze so far of the results of the survey, I concluded that a lot of you, thought that the British Farmers will be worse of, but you as Farmer will be better of. I thought that was interesting and was wondering why you will be better of and other not?'

I can explain to her, but it's not a very pretty picture of UK 'leave' voting farmers. But it tends to confirm my impressions over the last year or so - unpleasant policies are often supported by unpleasant people.

No wonder Labour is gaining support.

I think 7610 super q made a fairly light hearted comment, the presence of the emoji would illustrate that fact(y) Did he actually vote leave I don't know.
I cant honestly imagine that many voted leave simply because they do/did not receive bps payment.

Are you really suggesting that we should all send the money, or any money that comes over the next couple of years back or refuse to accept it. That certainly is not the real world.

What ever changes come about as a result of brexit, we will no doubt have to cross at the time.
Got to get ready for it as can not go on for ever ?

What we all need to remember is that subs were going to fizzle out one way or another whether we Remained or Left. Admittedly leaving may speed up the process but it would have happened anyway. At least now the UK and devolved governments won't be able to hide behind the EU every time they bring out new rules and laws. If they force something unpopular on us they will have to take the flack themselves.

That part of the survey wasn't worded particularly well IMO.

My view, before the vote, was that the nation would be better off, eventually, outside the EU, but it would be an absolute disaster for UK agriculture. Our governments, not just the ones in Westminster that everyone in the devolved nations likes to blame, care little about agriculture and food production. Career politicians think only of securing votes so that they can stay on the gravy train, and votes are in the cities where cheap food, imported if needs be, is popular.
Nothing has changed my mind thus far. The majority of the UK electorate will likely be at least as well off outside the EU, but UK ag as we know it could well be decimated.:(

Will that make a difference?:scratchhead:

Too much more of this, and the thread will get moved to the Brexit section.
I voted leave, the unfairness of the SFP scheme was ONE of the reasons.
Silly rules ( which cost me a lot of money ) whilst trying to grow organic spuds, veg, and also producing eggs was another. I first thought these rules were made by the soil association. Turns out, after doing some checking that low and behold ,it was the EU.......again....

Isn't it true that even if every farmer in the uk voted stay we'd still be leaving so there's no point bickering about it.
Alternative view: no one can be sure what proportion of 'leave' supporters have been mis-led by campaign lies (best estimate is one third) and what proportion would have voted that way anyway because they desire an agricultural collapse (two thirds certainly accords with a casual reading of TFF - it'll be interesting to see how this accords with Anouk's survey results to date).

But, either way, the point is that democratic values of fairness and truthfulness are too important not to hold those lies to account.

This is why, 2,000 years ago, Socrates explained that 'you get the politicians you deserve' - let them get away with it, and they will most assuredly do it again.

Just got a text to say I had a new message. Judge for yourself if I'm happy eating my breakfast

The inspection was carried out a couple of months ago. I went along with all the changes, all of which were short bits of field boundaries and about as wide as Serena Williams' arse. :(
