Westwood T1200

Hi

I’ve moved into a house which has a old T1200, its not the primary machine but I’ve been told it runs, however i can’t start the thing, it turns over but doesn’t fire.

I’ve seen a YouTube video where the fuel was switched off but the tank was up with the battery, this tank is attached to the engine and I can’t see how the fuel could be switched off.

Any suggestions?

Try pour a splash of petroleum straight into carb with no filter see if it fires, then you know if it’s fuel or spark related

Clean the plug, check there is a spark, drain the old fuel & replace with fresh & try it
