That's a lot of trenches. When they did ours they did a radar survey and picked out anomalies to trench.

I've a pic of one of my fields with random stripes like that.
Almost definitely shallow level archeology test digs. Usually the width of a ditching bucket and about 12-18" deep. Deep ones are usually quite small relative to one's like that.
Unusual to see so many in a close area though, maybe a suspected site of interest.
Be a substation, batteries, solar or something planned for it.
