What can we do if blocked in or out?

Following on from the thread about the farmer who "moved" a car out of his drive with a telehandler just what can we do if blocked in or out of our land or on a road blocked by poor parking?
In an ideal world police would come out and sort the situation very quickly but in the real world they just havn't the manpower.
So what can we legally do?

Is it legal to put a sign up saying “turning only” or “no parking” or is it sort of admitting your going to do something before it’s happened?
Open up a little area for a car park, and charge £3 a day parking, get some hens and sell eggs maybe grow a few spuds,
You have a beach next to your land, be enterprising by the situation,

I went to Swan Lake (between Manorbier and Freshwater East) and the farm there had a little car park in the farm yard, with an honesty box (since then the farm has been sold and how there is a private road sign at the end of the road.

Rented farm unfortunately and pretty sure that wouldn’t be allowed! Get 100+ cars a day here at the moment parking/turning/looking, nearest car park almost 2 mile away.

A sign a mile away does say dead end and no through road but people still try it. Moving sheep or moving with the Livestock box is only done pre 7am this time of year, you won’t move for w4nkers that can’t reverse otherwise

it easy to move a car.a;;ways if possible put your straps around the bottom arms and pull low so no damage,if it big and heavy 4x4 then ram some old number plates under the wheels and it will slide like a hot knife through butter down the road.it part of what i do for a living but with the proper tools

civil law is very different to 'normal' law, and in many cases takes precedent over it. Several s/mkts, shop chains, are using it on shoplifters, basically, it actually gets to court, and does not give tiny smacks, as a result. Pretty sure the police detest it, a bonus ? We were involved in a gypo camp removal, done under civil law, friend had a field taken 'over', if you act within the 48hrs, basically meant we could physically remove them, police were horrified, read us the riot act, called in the 'riot squad', mini bus loads, but they could not legally stop us, and field was emptied, voluntarily by the travellers, immediately. Not sure it's suitable for general use, but it does give a right of redress that normal doesn't.

details please!

i can see this happening around these parts any day now!

friend had a go at the police, for, not letting him know what they were doing, and not telling him, they weren't going to do anything, bearing in mind, these travellers had chased him from the field, in trucks, only giving up, when he reached the police station, now closed. A few words were exchanged, as he left, a sergeant told him, what to do, Which was, put a written notice, on each/most of the vehicles, stating they had to be gone by x time, or would be removed, the women thought it was highly amusing, and didn't interfere. This had to be done, within 48 hrs, to be legal, this was all checked by his solicitor, and NFU, and was legal. The cops spent nearly an hour, trying to stop him, they followed him to the 'meeting' point, and got very agitated seeing our numbers present, hence riot act, they were asked, were we legally able to do this, yes. The travellers had come off a dual carriage into the field, and we were told, any of us going through the road gate, would be arrested. To be fair, travellers said, calm down, were going, and we helped them out of the muddy gate, Police told them they could 'regroup' at a service station a few 100 m down the road, with no bother, they did, and traffic cops promptly tested the vehicles for red diesel ! One of the things that has stuck in my mind, there were 20/25 cops there, all the younger ones thought it was terrible to evict them, the ones with a few grey hairs, were of a very different view !! That to the best of my knowledge, is what happened, but l would seriously check with legal, NFU, the police won't help you with info, before doing anything, and you are on a 48hr time slot, funny thing, no 'camps' along that bit of the road since !

I’ve blockaded a few in here. Bales etc. Charge too remove and let them out. But luckily I haven’t had too use the gateway or track in question.
One memorable occasion a car was parked up where it shouldn’t have been at 5.30am, I blocked it in, got in the wagon and went Hexham for a load of sheep. Brother was out all day, Grandparents on holiday. The neighbours rang too say sone campers were trying too get hold of me too let them out. They were somewhat irate when I got home that night. 😂😂 shouldn’t have even been camping up here! They’d tried moving the silage bales but didn’t have the power. 😁
I’m told a squirt of brake cleaner or neat TFR on the bonnet puts the point across but I’ve never felt vindictive enough too try it.

I have pushed a few out of the way with a bale in the tines. Took pictures first, the police did arrive once after someone complained. I showed them the picture and asked what was I supposed too do if we needed an ambulance or fire engine up here and they can’t get through a 5 ft gap? Who is responsible for the safety of my family then? They agreed with me and off they went.
