What did you build over Christmas?

So, despite spending many hours in the workshop pulling tractors to bits and fabricating things, the big kid in me still loves a dam good Lego build ?. Fortunately this Christmas the Mrs treated me to this.

It was a very interesting and detailed build, not sure who thinks these kits up.

Well after around 15 hours, 4057 pieces of Lego and a bottle of captain Morgan’s ? the project was completed. Also squeezed a pirate ship in with the little fella ?

To be fair the little fella loves a good Lego build to. We’ve even got the next projects lined up?

So, did you build anything interesting over Christmas?
Doesn’t need to be Lego just a bit of fun for a Sunday evening ?

My nephew got that Lego city set which I built with him, brought back some memories although Lego was a lot different in my day!

Can I ask a question or two on the subject , after admitting to an absolute lack of any kind of knowledge/ experience . I quite fancy a go at building an item , do the ones with movable parts actually come with the actuating gear - motor , zapper to activate , or is that wishful thinking , and...

Rc cars was another one of my favourite pass times, use to love the smell of nitro ?. Sold them off when I got into the rc heli’s, I was quite surprised what they sold for! Apparently I had some “classics”, that just made me feel old though?

Was gonna ask "Where on earth do you keep something that big?" as i thought in your third picture that it was on the floor and you were bricking in your doorway!......... i now realise it was on your table ?

That excavator/ loader is huge once built judging the pics I’ve seen of it that would be my next choice if funds would stretch but a new born lad has put pay to any “toys” for a while

i take it your well aware of the RC construction models out there, i know that shovel your going to build is far from cheap, ive looked at it...

spent an hour this evening building lego friends kit with our wee lass.
brings back memories, there's a lot of lego in this house, its great for the imagination imo.
Actually, plannin a trip to lego land Denmark in a few months time atm, its for the kids like...

Back to the RC, have a gander, there's loads of stuff like this out there, only caveat is ya need deep pockets........, really deep like..... dont tell the Mrs kinda stuff..

Congratulations on the new arrival, don’t panic it’s not long before you can justify toys for the kids???

I use to have loads of home designed models when I was younger, unfortunately we had a house fire many years ago and I lost 98% of my Lego collection ? (I had a lot).
I’ll dig out the ones I still have tomorrow if I get chance.

There’s a massive show in Germany that me and a mate keep threatening to attend.
Will get there one day but must remember to leave the cheque book at home, them models are in a whole different price bracket!

I think it depends on age, my son only built from instructions, but recently has started dismantling them and mixing them, making hybrids!

That’s a pretty good point, In my youth I had plenty of time to just sit and build and try putting different things together. Now I have to wait for my youngest to go to bed just to get 5 minutes piece!
It’s more a case of trying to get a kit together while I can, I did manage get a couple of hours on the excavator last night ?.
