What Do I Replace My Old Laptop With?

My old Lenovo Laptop has died and I am struggling to know what is best to use as a replacement.

We use a number of different programs on an office computer, the main one being Sum-It which works very well and I also have the mobile cattle app.
I would like to use whatever I get as a replacement as a back up for the office machine, just in case.

I also want something lighter and more portable without going to the extreme Apple machines.
Most of the apps we are running are now Android based and I was wondering about a Chrome Book. Anyone have any experience or recommendations please. I want a reasonably large screen as eyes get tired with age these days!!

If you’re using the google suite then Chromebooks are ideal but they won’t support a lot of other programs. Fantastic for internet browsing and cloud based work though.

Frank there’s a Lenovo UK sales promo running until midday today.

eCoupon: FLASHSALE

I bought a cheap Yoga convertible tablet for use in the tractor about 9 months again and it’s been pretty solid.

Back when I was on the tools in IT around twenty plus years ago I cut my teeth on ThinkPad T-series machines. They took some beating. Lenovo have done a good job with the build of current ThinkPads. I’d have one.

With an Android app? Which type of phone does the op have?
Not sure it matters. You should be able to have independant choice of desktop/laptop operating system without hindrance or penalty. There’s still quite a few scenarios where a “proper” desktop operating system is desirable and needed.

Although I quite like some of the principle, I for one wouldn’t be able to move exclusively to a “phone/cloudy” based operating system like Chromebook.

Well I have got another Lenovo with Windows 10.
All good but it took a while to work out how to get rid of Edge and get Chrome back.

Cracked it now though and unbelievably quick compared to the old one!!
Thanks for help and advice.
