What does this do, it's on a TS 100A. New Holland. She is used on a feeder wagon but this has been getting really hot when the the tractor is sitting mixing.
I think some of the spools aren't shutting off properly and there is maybe always oil going through the valve block. Would that cause the heat?

Had this same problem with 135a, thought it was a spool valve but it turned out to be the brake disc's worn out still stopped ok but rear end oil was getting black and filter's when cut open were also partially blocked , so i would check your's.............

That is trailer brake valve easy way to check if it's stuck on, connect up trailer and see if brakes come on when starting tractor without touching pedal, never known one to do this but worth checking,if you think spool valve not shutting off again plug trailer tipping ram in and see if it move's,yes oil will get hot if a valve is jammed as pump will be working hard.

Does it sound like a spool is stuck on and pumping ? If it is does the pumping stop if you float a spool ? ... I know of a few that's done this and it's something to do with a valve on the pump if I remember right.

We had to change the pump on ours, pump with control valve was cheaper than the valve.
You could here it trying to pump and labouring engine.

does sometimes if you're driving on the road, hard to tell but im pretty sure its a spool not shutting off properly but it seems to be this valve that gets hot.
