Ideally what you need to get your hands on is the cable utility company use from the transformer on their pole to your supply. Sometimes you can be lucky if any upgrade work is carried out.I had to pay to move a meter here due to house extension. I dug the ducting in myself and local lads pushed a new LV cable through and connected at the pole and moved the meter. As the old one was overhead and attached to chimney they couldn’t go up to retrieve it so just cut it at pole and cut the meter end off and left it there. I never took much notice of it and just flung it down off the scaffold. We installed the new meter in a meter box outside. When our electricians saw the cable they used it from the sub main by the meter into the house and to feed another distribution board where the GSHP is sited. They said it’s ideal cable and saved quite a bit not having to buy armoured cable.

Hi thanks for all the replies had the electrician out today ,we have a break in the wire just where it joins our house where the meter is,problem is there is not quite enough wire to make a new joint so we need a new cable what I need is 100m of pme cable which the electric board use but cant seem to find any.
Options are find cable or he recommends 50mm 3 core which would cost £1000 and go underground which would be major ,the biggest thing we run at the moment are welders and compressor as we don't use grain equipment anymore.
