Waiting for a PCR test result. Had the test 2 days ago!!! Phoned the help line this morning and no results from lab yet. Trying to run an electrical business from the house via a mobile phone is a bit tricky.

Nobheads ringing up on a weekly basis from various places offering to promote my business.

Last week a young lad who referred to me as Pete Mate called at a bad time. I told him I had no need to promote my business as I can’t cope with the work we have at busy times so why do I want more to do?

He said “What kind of an idiot runs a business that doesn’t want to gain more work?”

Bad move. I told him I certainly wasn’t taking business advice from a youth who’s school and career choices meant he’s ended up in a call centre mithering busy people who would sooner he just f**ked off.

He asked me if I was ok and if I was suffering with mental health issues brought on by stress?

Twunt.

Make the appointment but only if he can come in person with a colleague then make them wait in their car in the yard for an hour until they begin to accuse you of wasting their time ....

It works - I've done it more than once.

You'll get blacklisted .....Bovvered ? Ha Ha.

i never understood why i need a smart meter to tell me if i put another light on my electric use will ???? oh go up?? thats rite no meter needed
Funnily enough I was just going to complain about my smart meters-

I have 4 and Npower says that they want paying monthly on each, fine it will smooth cash flow.

This hasn't been going according to plan though, just had 7 months of bill on one of the more 'needy' meters arrive on the same day (electronically) 35 pages and £5K

Agree. If the government thinks that people will stop using their xbox/telly/lights/oven/etc because they are using lots of electricity they have completely lost the plot.

What they really want is for everyone to have a smart meter so the price can be changed on a minute by minute basis in the future, to reflect the fact that the country is short. Even then I doubt it will have the desired effect.

Overhere a very big point in keeping your old style electricity meter is that you can put solarpanels on your roof and the meter will turn backwards when you produce more then you use.
I might be far out if things are very different on your side of the pond, but keep that in mind.
I used to like watching mine go backwards, unfortunately they were pretty quick changing it to a digital one

Speaking to a chap who’d had one fitted, he said it was great as he hadn’t realised how cheap it was to keep the heating on an extra few hours a day.

Sure that’s not the aim of them.
