Spent an interesting afternoon digging holes yesterday around the farm looking at soil structure. On the whole the farm is at the OK stage to start DD properly. Just have a couple of fields that would benefit from a cover crop to break up the top 4" that were ploughed last year in a desperation attempt to get W Wheat in.
So, any recommendations on what to put in, will be heading for S Beans.

Another field is borderline on wether it needs a CC and is now getting W Linseed drilled in the next few days, will this be strong enough rooting to be OK or do I need to move that to a different field?

Last year I put mustard and oats in ground that was destined for s beans. They were DDd in and yielded the same as the comparison field over the road done conventionally. Will be doing wheat in this year on the dd fields.
Have the same in this year. Get it in ASAP to give the cover enough time to do its work
