What size high impact wrench.

The question would be I think will the 1/2 inch one undo very tight 30mm wheel nuts on tractors trailers etc. If the answer is yes I would go for the 1/2 inch and a good selection of good quality impact sockets. A 3/4 inch one might be quite a bit more expensive and cumbersome ?? If you were going to be undoing trailer and truck wheels all the time every day definitely 3/4. From what ive read on here the 1/2 inch should be enough for the farm.

I took a rear wheel bolt out of a JD6330 Premium using a 1/2" Milwakee. I was impressed, they're torqued up to 500Nm. It didn't even hesitate!!

Keep your eye on eBay for coupons. There was 15% off powertoolmate stuff a fortnight ago which put a 1/2" high torque Milwaukee £276 + vat ( complete kit )

Chicago Pneumatic's do a 1" give it plenty of air with no restrictions in the line and hold on tight.

Milwaukee is the way to go.mine has only been stopped by jcb telehandler wheel nuts.easy to strip threads or shear bolts too.often run a 1/2inch to 3/4 adaptor to run 3/4 drive sockets.never broke a socket but bought a set of deep drive sealey impact sockets which have been faultless

Cheers Nick that's seems to be the way to go. Will go for the 1/2 and get an adapter for the 3/4 sockets.

I have the 3/4 one and its great, if your doing mainly wheel nuts then with out doubt the 3/4. I have the mid torque 1/2 one for smaller stuff and that's also great but only up to 600nm.

had a go with a new 3/4 one key version of mine, last week, very similar but the one key has 4 torque settings not 2 and it looked a slightly fatter body to the gun but slightly shorter some how although the specs on paper say they are the same? it defiantly had a bit more torque than mine too, mines something like 980nm I think and the one key version is something like 1200nm? either way they are both an impressive tool:)

Sorry for tangent, but got one of these that does little more than turn itself. It's not due to over work. Is there anything that can done to rejuvenate it?

also used one of them last week and again loads more torque than cordless but that's what you would expect! drain the water out of compressor make sure you got at least 90 psi or more and plenty flow, you need larger bore air hose and fittings to run these! and oil it regular.

oh and a pair of gloves to avoid the freeze burn of the exhaust!

nothing undoes bloody JCB wheel nuts! lick of flame from gas is the easy way or a torque multiplier! its the counter sink that's holds them tight

Watch the lick of flame with the inflated tyres, we do the same but dangerous, as you know.

As above or it might need new vanes if it has a lot of work done.
