What size trailer?

Just wondering what people’s opinions are of the ideal trailer size for the following.
Combine grain tank 10,500 litres
Lowest shed to tip in 16ft to the apex
150-250hp tractors with standard hydraulic pumps.

I reckon about 16 or 18 ton trailer would be ideal. you would be able to unload twice with the combine but all depends if you have a short or long haul and if its flat or hilly.

I don't know about tipping but with grain there would be no need to push the hydraulics all the way but you would just need to push it up a bit more.

150hp tractor might struggle on the uphill if its full.

If u dont mind doing more trips id go with a 10 or 12 ton trailer as there alot cheaper to buy than 1 big one.

14 ton. We have a lexion 560 with 10500 litre tank and two tips fit perfectly.

A 20' long 8' wide and 5' high trailer would take two tanks assuming stopping to unload on headland, just over 15t of wheat. If you were unloading on the move maybe another 4.5 minutes cutting and 3t of wheat to find space for. Our three trailers that do the bulk of the grain carting hold 12 t wheat plus a flat bottom dump trailer with about 8.5 tonne. Looked at swapping a grain trailer for a bigger one last year but a lot of money for little benefit so bought the dumper. Bigger trailer, need bigger wheels underneath, can't use smaller tractors to tow, need steering axle to stop scrubbing bigger wheels and get into fields/yards, difficult to tip in older sheds so it can be a lot of money invested for little benefit.

You didnt say how far your fields are

14ton with tall sides and a short body 18ft to tip in low sheds works perfect for us, also keeps within legal limits.

Why not two smaller trailers.
1 and half empties.

Easier to pull, easier to tip, always a bin full capacity sat in the field when you leave.

If one has a puncture or oil pipe burst you can make do.

We have looked at this ,and decided to stick with 12 ton trailer , on flotations , tip one full tank,and what you collect as you empty , most fields ,can get back before full ,unless traffic really busy , can pull it with 6620 or bigger tractor ,
