What to charge

How much should l charge myself and both my tractor, lm helping this guy who has 30 acres of silage to do, first cut, loads of bales, lm carting them and loading them for him, we did 12 acres last week, had 175 bales, wasn't finished till 330 in the morning as the rain was forecast. So much an hour or so much a bale?.

If I was helping a neighbour who I had the remotest chance of having 'the favour' reciprocated I'd put it down to neighbourliness. Some favours cost you money some help is priceless. If it is purely commercial then £25 covers costs and not a lot more. Some years ago I had silage made and I was charged £1/bale to cart to wrapper for a 500 yard move.
Profi magazine contractor charge rates are
tractor and man 100-150hp £37.38hr.
