What tractor (90 HP-ish) ?

Time to replace my MF4225 loader tractor (65HP) with something a bit more powerful but of similar physical size. I've been very happy with it but increased acreage warrants moving on, particularly as it now does duty with a hedger on the back as well as loader work (mainly shifting and loading bales). I'm thinking a 4355 or similar if I can find one. Budget up to £25K-ish including a parallel loader. One thing I particularly like about my 4225 is the steeply sloping bonnet to give best view of the ground.

What else should I be looking at ?

In my experience the 5400 and 6400 series are better, stronger, better specified [apart from hydraulic flow] tractors then the ancient Coventry designs, whether actually Coventry or Beauvais built.

For loader work, there is a lot to be said for the 4300 series though. The combined pumps give excellent hydraulic flow and 500psi more pressure than for the single pump 5400 and 6400 series. Also the links can be worked while using the loader on the 4300 while oil flow to the loader or auxiliary valve takes priority on single pump 5400 series, freezing the links if external oil flow is being used. No different to many other brands, but not as versatile as the 4300 series.

Nevertheless, I'd go for a good condition 5400 every day, especially a T3 [or even a T2 with Dyna4] one with the blue button and dual pumps. 5445 T3 is more than powerful enough of an upgrade to a 4245. But there is a marked increase in fuel consumption I'm afraid.
