What vehicle?

How much cheaper is the Ranger in 2.0 litre bi turbo spec? Mine has plenty of poke for normal driving and towing. Is the V6 really necessary?
Naw you need the big engine, dunno why but the hooligan in me says you just do😂😂👍

Besides with the V6 you can make the most of the wayward handling and is especially handy for trying to catch the transit tipper that’s just made off with your quad bike in the back, The driver shouting out the window something about wife beating…..

And yes I’ve driven the 2 litre and know it goes better than the 3.2 that’s in my Ranger, how this is possible I’m not sure, I just figured witchcraft was involved😂😂😂 Anyway if that one starts to worry me or anyone else we can get @Cowabunga to explain it for us👍👍

Saw a mint brand new Porsche Cayenne turbo at the lights today, complete with yellow callipers indicating the owner had ticked the carbon-ceramic brakes option which was probably the neck end 20K on it's own as an option. Looked pretty cool though.

Unfortunately the owner pished off in a great hurry when the lights went green so I didn't have time to ask him the list of questions I know Magnus Oyke would want answered.

I know you said you didn't want 2 vehicles, but if you had a commercial truck of whatever description fits the bill, you could put that through the farm and then have a private car, it would be a lot easier for accounting. Also, if you needed to go one direction, and you other half had to go somewhere else they could do so in the car.

If you go out for the day or the evening or on holiday, do you really want to have a load of tools rattling around in the car, or go out in a car that smells of wet dog/diesel/dead sheep/whatever and then found you've sat in the blob of grease/oil/mud/calf scour that was on your overalls?

The farm should be able to run a vehicle and surely you pay yourself enough to be able to run a car like the rest of the population do?

Apparently the government has employed @Magnus Oyke as transport minister and are putting a penis tax on pickups as they think we’re all massive cocks for driving them😂😂
I'm not Transport Minister as yet, this is evident in the low speed limits and high levels of enforcement. When I rise to my rightfulplace as Supreme Leader later this year there will be changes, and a lot of floggings

Any suggestions for an all round vehicle please. Both a farm vehicle and family vehicle. It’ll be used for towing a ifor Williams at times, running across fields during harvest with bowsers/tools etc. Then on the daily school run as well as holidays in this country. Basically my only vehicle for 15,000-20,000 miles a year.
I don’t want to run two vehicles so it needs to do all the jobs I require. With the incoming new double cab pickup tax rules then im not sure that’s an option anymore? I’ve got two business’s. One a ltd none farming company and then a private partnership farm business. Longest regular trip would be 50 miles so electric is an option as we do have solar panels, but not many electrics can legally tow an ifor Williams (3t plated trailer). Longest trips would be a holiday so 200 miles ish.
If the pickup tax advantage has gone then might as well look at an suv?
Money wise then I’d probably prefer a lease rather than buying it as the monthly repayments would be less and as it’s my only vehicle I’d be changing as the warranty runs out. I’ve got all the main dealers within 10-20 minutes and no brand preference.
Pickup tax changes have been shelved so that may be back on your radar.

Just spent an hour on google and would need to clarify these figures but basically a discovery 5 in pretty much poverty spec on a straight 3 yr lease for 15k miles a year is £39,000 + vat and I’d have to add a towbar. I’d get half the vat back so overall it’s just shy of £42,900 or £1200/month. Then there’s servicing and tyres on top. A defender 110 is very slightly cheaper but to be honest I don’t like the look of them so wouldn’t want to be getting in that every day. Also I’ve no idea what the insurance on a LR would be now since they are being stolen regularly.
A Vw Touareg on 3 years and 15,000 miles is coming out at £31,500 + vat so again half the vat back and it works out at £34,650 or £962/month plus servicing, tyres, towbar and insurance.
A fully loaded Ford Ranger Wildtrack V6 3yrs, 15,000 miles a year comes included with towbar and electrics. Also has a rear roller over the pickup bed is £30,600 + vat. I’m assuming I’ll get all the vat back still if obtained before July 24 so monthly cost is £850/month plus servicing, tyres and insurance. As an aside a VW Amarok v6 same as the Ranger but without a rear roller comes out at £27,454 plus vat or £762/month but I’d have to add the rear roller shutter. No idea on availability for any of them other than a Touareg which said available immediately.

Everything is big money!
Your figures are basically just to rent the vehicle, as you will have no residual value. There may be an option to buy [a balloon payment] at the end but the total will be around £50,000 + VAT at a guess. The V6 may be difficult to source and a factory order may arrive this year, if indeed they are still taking factory orders. The 2.0 is more than powerful and refined enough though, and £3k cheaper.
Yes, big money.
