for clarification for people away from Devon a completely different firm, mole avon which is very farm focused and a firm that you could not ask to be more pro farming, very helpful farm experienced staff in my local store not to be confused with others of similar name
good point.
Mole Avon ( their membership gets a discount ) are doing well nowadays if you are in their areas. they aren't the same as MVF just a coincidental type name, but as it happens you can get your MVF membership discount paying at the till.
just to add that wouldnt mean a double discount if you belong to both

So either:
Ovivac P+ still works, after the time honoured practice of keeping it in the fridge for a week or two between usages; evidenced by the treated lambs not dying.
Or, It doesn't work at all, and the lambs are still not dying, because the treatment is merely another very expensive and unnecessary insurance.
If they wanted us to do it the right way, surely it would be available in 250ml bottles like Heptavac is. Instead it comes in a too big, but more economical 500ml, or a ridiculously small 100ml, with predatory pricing.
You might have missed the video in post 36? It's about deterioration of broached bottles.

The stuff is still overly expensive, I agree. We've used 50ml bottles with lambs this year, too, because that's all that was available unless we could manage to jab 250 of them in one go ~ which we couldn't.

Does that mean the horsey, suburban cafe one opposite a T*sco isn't representative? I'm not being snide, it's the only one I've ever been in. Nice to browse through, but not farming orientated that I felt.

yes new store meant more other stuff., nature of the beast i guess.... for want of better words old one down Mill Street near the Crediton Inn was mostly farm / bit of garden stuff. +
it is farming orientated, direct sales with seed fert own *grass seed. etc etc speak to the office .
cheaper than mvf atm with a lot of base stuff as well
yes theyve diversified like others have.

*MA Versatility is a good short term / ley mix ime.

Got 2 artic load of mixes size stakes and wire , was for February delivery, not seen it and now telling me they've ran out for the foreseeable future 🐓, off to MVP and will hopefully be here by Wednesday, never using MVF for anything ever
I'm afraid always use mvp now as always have what you need in stock and easy to deal with .

yes they have that too, but have a good farm team to, who are from farms and know farming, prices as good as anywhere and will get most things in,i personally could not knock the service they give me as a working farmer

I used to visit ‘Parkers’ in a small industrial unit tucked away in Kingston Blount forty years ago. They weren’t really open to the general public except if you had a current account, then you could book items out.
This was a fantastic place and they stocked all sorts of useful farm/foreshardware items as they were hardware specialists.
As far as I know they never stocked Veterinary items.
Perhaps when they moved away from KB and added the McVeigh part they wandered down this route.

For yard stuff bridgemans and mc veigh offer free delivery as long as your over a reasonable threshold, that can be a deal getter easy. But Bridgemans would always deliver, and way before mvp came on the scene and would be an easy decision choice between them and mv for like gates tanks feeders etc.

Harpers have always been / are excellent for feeds

Bridgmans are very good.
Harpers seem to care about the quality of the goods they sell unlike MVF.
But I don't use Harpers since they have been such a proponent of pushing the idea of finishing cattle quicker to save the planet.
DP agri have been excellent but could be closing next month.
Wynnstay's seem a bit hit and miss.

agricentre were really big around here, then wynstay took them over, never see a rep, found them pricey, and probably lost a lot trade locally.

bridgemans are about 200m from where our local agricentre was, and our local rep, gone to bridgemans, as has a lot of our business.

harpers seem a bit on the dear side, for the shop side, but all our conc and straights come from there, and no complaints about the price/quality.

Wynnstay at Bridgwater J24 always seems quiet with one on the till and never a queue!
More closer price matching to MVF now, but usually a bit dearer.
