not yet cant see the point in lining the chem mans pocket, our best yields and more importantly margin come from sowings between 22th sept and 15th october ish. Though it varies due to weather post drilling which end does the best, outside those dates is a no if at all possible we reckon we need 10 full days to sow in a period of 24 days

Will be drilling abit earlier this year compared to the last few on a lot of our wheat. Seem to be on top of blackgrass now and more importantly we will Be zero till drilling into stubbles that have had no seed return on them this year. From experience I think if you cultivate and have blackgrass you have no choice but to wait until the end of October. Cultivating breeds blackgrass.

We’ve started cultivating and will be drilling wheat soon. I was drilling on this day last year into some ground that benefits from early planting but that’s now in a stewardship scheme so nothing much before the 1st Oct here.
