Still at zero. "Dry spell into next week." Could go to 100% in 4 days. Been saying that since 1st October. There will be some cacky patches but if I waited for perfection I'd never get anything done. Getting that restless pre drilling feeling. Want to crack on. But patience needed. And a few things to attend to make sure I'm super ready.

Finally ready to start tomorrow if it will go. Inevitable last minute hydraulic leak pissing out of a bout marker trip ram. Bodged a new seal with an O ring found in the tin. Others in the area are power harrowing min tilled land presumably trying to bring up some tilth.

Got going today planting some land that was due for spring cropping felt conditions were too good to miss holding back because of grass issues hopefully won’t regret it 2F0B8D45-A358-459D-B3BD-46299E525F6F.jpeg

It's when you go to bed and dream about drilling a field all night, and have to get up next morning and do it all over again!
Can happen the day before combining too!

Got another 275 acres of wheat in on min-tilled and ploughed land this week with 2x 6m tines drills, also another 35 acres of w beans done, few iffy headlands but pleased with how it went in on the whole. Another 200 odd acres of wheat potentially to go depending on cropping plans and another couple of hundred for a few neighbours weather depending. Current totals are 575ac OSR, 350ac W Barley, 2350ac W Wheat and 110ac W Beans. Been a long old slog but were getting there slowly.

Do you apply Pinoxaden in December to battle Blackgrass?
Whats your strategy?
No. That’s axial I think and it’s only really used to control ryegrass or wild oats. Blackgrass control is based around cultural controls and residual chemicals applied pre emergence. Primarily flufenacet with others such as pendimethlin, diflufenican and tri-allate. Some SU herbicides have an effect post emergence.

Not enough planes in the air sending back weather data to the computers apparently.
And not enough proper meteorologists who can actually tell you what the weather is going to do.
