The reliance on imports is nothing more than a stab in the back for British farmers who have supported the industry push towards traceability in the supply chain. I was due 3 lorries in yesterday, 1 was cancelled & the haulier was held up with 5 rejections at the ethanol plant from the Bulgarian wheat being delivered in for ADM. British farmers carried wheat into the marketing period for harvest 2024 knowing that harvest would come up short. Almost all of it would have been grown to Red Tractor & been fully traceable. They say you reap what you sow but when we're undermined by the businesses we're buying inputs from it stinks.
