There's a lot of wheat in the ground and if grain prices keep going the way they are fert prices won't be an issue but logistics may be, and it's amazing what can be achieved when people start waving money about. If December wheat is achieving such a huge price, I can’t help thinking that the market hasn’t yet factored in the effect of the massive fertiliser prices on harvest 22….?
I carnt help thinking fertiliser won’t come down while wheat is risingIf December wheat is achieving such a huge price, I can’t help thinking that the market hasn’t yet factored in the effect of the massive fertiliser prices on harvest 22….?
I was thinking the sameI carnt help thinking fertiliser won’t come down while wheat is rising
I believe there is, just going off posts on here and looking over hedges on my travels.do you mean the uk or worlwide ? re wheat in the ground cos im not so sure there is much more wheat than average even allowing for the last couple of winters ,theres an ahdb survey out ,but on my travels im seeing more osr and a fair bit of wb albeit the wheat in the main looks pretty good (edited by me as should have been in response to renault man)
reckon im travelling in the same areas as you just shows how we all view thigs a tad different but would you agree or disagree that there is more osr in our area and most if not all cereal land is sownI believe there is, just going off posts on here and looking over hedges on my travels.
July 2007 it rose a tenner every day for two weeks.up 7.50 in a day that must be near the highest rise in a day ever, think its more than black wednesday 1992
Definitely more OSR, but nearly all the maize beans and beet land is or will be back in to wheat, all the black grass boys and girls who daren't drill until mid October or later have got it in. I don't think there will be very much spring cropping, in the arable areas, unless there is a late flush of black grass.reckon im travelling in the same areas as you just shows how we all view thigs a tad different but would you agree or disagree that there is more osr in our area and most if not all cereal land is sown
yep agree beans have gone for next year as has sp barley been replaced or rather re instated by wb though I still dont see a vast increase in ww and there seems to be a fair bit more osr which looks big andin reality was sown /planned/commited before the big price increaseDefinitely more OSR, but nearly all the maize beans and beet land is or will be back in to wheat, all the black grass boys and girls who daren't drill until mid October or later have got it in. I think this year im going to do the same as usual its got me through the last 40 yearsI think this year I'm going to look more at ways to set a base price without any physical sales.
