These videos always look good working dry flat land that has been pre worked.

I want to see them getting dragged up a steep hill, on ploughing, in a late, wet spring!

Has anyone removed the front cultivation elements from a Rapid to make it lighter and more akin to a DD drill?

I'm considering a CTF concept and would go for a bigger drill that follows mainly surface shallow cultivation, where the vaddy coulters work really well.

It's just that to adopt CTF practices it's n normally the drill that ends up being bigger than the current horsepower allows. Shallow discs, rolls, sprayer, combine all fit an 8m/24m CTF really well (or even a 9m/27m or a 10m/30m).

On heavy land with blackgrass I would hesitate going to a wide spacing drill like the sprinter.

If you could pull an 8m vaddy without the front elements working or even removed how much power would be needed then to achieve 12km/hr+
