Unlike most other countries, the UK only allows it's citizens to vote for 15 years after leaving the UK in a general election. Unfortunately this rule doesn't seem to apply for taxation purposes. I didn't know that EU citizens can still vote in a UK general elections.
In my constituency the Conservative Party could indeed put up a Muppet and still win the seat!
