Having never sown wheat in spring since the 1970`s, when is it time to put nitrogen fert onto the crop? It has had half its dose a fortnight ago, should I put the rest on now or wait till it is a lot bigger? been in the ground 5 1/2 weeks now, only had a couple of showers of rain really.

Get it done ASAP. It’s more about getting it into the plant next time there’s rain. What growth stage is it at? What’s the target market and how much has it had so far?
