Was talking to a tyre fitter the other day, had a big red 1” drive gun, Beasty looking thing. A cp5000 from a google search, he reckoned there wasn’t much that would argue with it.

for doing wheel nuts and heavy duty stuff...
compressor will be from back of tractor
thanks

No offence, but there’s not enough air from the back of a tractor to keep a decent airgin going, even revving it. As already said, a Milwaukee M18 will be just as powerful and more portable.
I have a 1/2” M18 and it will tighten and loosen wheelnuts at 500Nm.

You can't beat the 1 inch air gun for heavy jobs like track work. The more you work it the colder it gets, unlike anything electric.. once we hired a mains impact gun for pad swaps on a 20 tonner and it nearly melted.. Went out and bought a £100 cheapy 1 inch gun and it's run for years on occasional use. Far more hit than the Milwaukee 3/4 fancy thing that goes flat quick..

I've a 1/2 inch SIP here that I rate very highly although it's getting tired now after 20 odd years of doing work it shouldn't have and rarely seeing the oil can. We've a 1 inch CP gun as well but it takes the diesel compressor to supply it with air. A beast of a gun but almost to good as it'll shear off bolts for sport if there any way slow to open. The brother has an inch Milwaukee 110 volt impact gun as well and it can open wheel studs no problem at all. Bit slower then air but by god it hasn't failed yet and is better then the breaker bar.

Have you tried running that 1” gun on a tractor air brakes though?
If your Milwaukee is going flat quick send the battery away. Changed all 4 Fastrac wheels with a 5ah battery last week and still 50% charge at the end

Need a fairly big air tank to work.. The gun is almost new. i'm not impressed with run time. Could battery's be faulty?
