Opinion #1 - they are useless
Opinion #2 - use your mobile

Only use I ever found for them was pumping slurry, to let the monkey know when to stop/start. A one-ringer works just as well, though.

What's everyone's opinions on cb radios, antennas, leads, an fitting (antenna location etc)
I have a big heap off them if you want to buy one
Antenna wants to go in the middle off the roof the trouble is these days that cab roofs are plastic so you dont get such a good ground plain twin antenna won't help on a tractor as you can't get them far enough apart and they make the set up more directonal
as above cybernet board cb's always worked best
some will say there no good but with the right set up you can talk to someone twenty miles away line of sight no probs

I like it you can hear the truck drivers having a go at the bloody tractors on the road for a while. Then give them some abuse back.

Passes the day. Think mines a thunderpole (sounds gay I know!) They do kits with aerial, cb, etc.

Interesting fact..... Apparently its one of the only methods of communication that would remain in the event of a cyber attack! Everything else requires satellites.

not as good as the nato and the 500 line amp
Never was a fan of cybernet based rigs and the squelch pop & microscopic s meter , always liked the uniden chassis even if they were a bit deaf, the Zetagi is brilliant, you can splatter from 26 to 28 mhz and really annoy people, as well as blanking out the old analogue tellys when you keyed the mic :)
