Which Mini Excavator?

Looking possibly two, a 1.7T and a 6T, possibly to buy both.

Lots of choice out there.

Kubota, Techuchi (can't spell the B@stard), Bobcat, Yanma and Hyundai.....

Not a huge fan of my local Kubota outlet, what do people think is best? Been offered a new Bobcat at a tempting price.

You won’t buy a bad machine whatever you buy.takeuchi are good but I’m not a fan but can’t say why.bobcats will rust badly, some jcb mini’s are dreadful.go for the best deal and a close dealer.there is a massive choice out there.ive run volvo for 17 years and case before that.if I change again I’ll probably go fo a kubota.

Jcb are ?,I've killed two of the new model 1.5 ton, kubota 1.6 with expanding tracks are brilliant plus they have twin speed tracking ,,bobcat also good,,techuchie(yes that one) good ,the dozer blade is well infront which makes cleaning up a doddle as you dont have to offset the boom as much .they are all much alike ,depends on dealer backup and price.
Something to consider is fitting trackers and remote isolators just incase they starting moving when they shouldn't,,both kubota hire groups near me have fitted them and it paid of one Sunday early morning ,,gang was trying to load it one up and with in 5 minutes ,it was shut down .

Only thing I would really want would be joysticks on the armrests instead of in front of you. Two speed tracking is nice aswell, as is expanding tracks. Only brand I really worked with is an ihi, nice machine.

So in essence you will get someone suggesting every brand and on here and also hear good an bad things about all and bad about all .

of the ones you Highlight my first choice would kubota , and best residual I imagine hyundai would be my second from your selection , however I have never seen a small Hyundai working in fact i have never even seen on so they must be pretty rare round here , the Midi stuff will be sound enough loads of them around so must be ok

but buy both from the same dealer if you can and use a dealer who you get on with and local , in essence there are not really and bad brands around they simply could not survive the market is that competitive.

If it were me I would buy takeuchi, bobcat or Hitachi

Also maybe consider Airman, it's exactly the same as a hitachi built by airman in japan.

My experience is kubota are good with older kit or 3t. But once you get over 5t the hydraulics are slow and not snappy enough.

Jcb after they moved from the susimoto js130 are rubbish

I’m a big fan of Kubota 3 and 5 tonne machines, out of all I’ve driven I’ve preferred them for ease of use and they seem nice and strong.
