What I don't understand is cereal farmers who are idle from November to the end of February every year that claim they need new. When you can do an awful lot of service and repairs in 4 months.
But where is the value in the secondhand market? Finding these “bargains” takes loads of time and when you find them they make new stuff look good value when you factor in the warranties, five years interest free, and perhaps most importantly the exact specification you want. Lazily I choose new.

What age do you lose the enthusiasm for new kit well tractors .In my twenties I would be buzzing to buy something new !Not that we did .But now not so much !
I guess the reality kicks in about the massive cost these days!
New stuff is ok sometimes but over the years I have had more enjoyment out of secondhand things , everyone is different good job a lot do buy lots of new things it leaves lots of nice secondhand things to pick from.

I’ve no interest in driving tractors I’d rather be servicing repairing infact the older I get I can hardly stand to sit on one for 12hrs
I know how you feel ..... I ploughed 26 acres fri/Sat in between jobs which I don't mind but to sit on the same tractor hour after hour for me is long gone ! As soon as I turn into a field I'm working out how long till I am finished . Strangely though I do enjoy mowing and baling .
