Who else is having red diesel fuel problems just now ? How can these fuel firms get away with putting this stuff in fuel blocking filters very premature. I have heard mentioned of an additive to put in holding tank . Anybody shed any light on subject?

Seem to have been extremely lucky had diesel from a few different suppliers and no issues. Read plenty threads about it on here and had emails about problems from suppliers.

Mainly CNH tractors. Manitou and fastrac.

No tractor issues here yet (JD & JCB) but we're getting through 10 micron filters on the tank pump every 1000 litres or so at the moment. I'm adding Fuel Set to the tank shortly to disperse any water & prevent any bug growth. The filters are clean inside after changing so I can't see what's causing it.

Much more on the other thread.

Haven’t seen the other thread but we’ve had a load of fuelling issues on both JD and JCB. Even changed supplier and get them to put in an additive at one bottle/3000 litres.

This is why you are having trouble.
Can’t believe suppliers think our machines should run on this.

We're the same the filters look clean when opened but I'm finding a kinda sludgy residue on the paper element that must be enough to stop it sucking fuel we were getting 2000l at most

Just take a sample and get it tested.Never had any problem here. Diesel is stored in old underground petrol tank.

Dunno if anyone else has seen this but its looking like the SNFU are doing something about it?
where is the UK lot on this? (Said he not renewing his membership)

Is there a danger of it seeming a bit hypocritical of us to want to supply grain for biofuel but not have to use it ourselves?
It's these new, counterproductive emissions standards that are the problem, swap these junk modern engines out for detroit 2 strokes that happily run on 50% slime

Had a good chat with one fuel supplier yesterday.
This extra biofuel content is now added in coz of law changes
But i dont think no one thought of the chaos it looks to be going to give a lot of us storing then trying to use it afterwards
But afaik as i can tell adding in the correct biocide to your storage tanks should counter act the problems.

It also seems as if Derv has the same bio content now also but possibly because its a higher grade diesel than the Red stuff its not affecting it in the same way

So does that lead us into asking can we then have the higher grade of Red Diesel to which i was told we dont stock it.

My Amarok has a big sticker inside the filler flap with “Biofuel” on it with a red line through the writing.
Be fun to grind to a spluttering halt on a motorway ...
