Who wanted rain ?

Apart from some barley that went in late and baked last year 30mm in 3 months and all was fine so I don’t see any issues with the same again
Similar here, it was a great year, but we'd had much more rain this time last year and the water table was very high, so things could handle the dry summer.

This year despite a couple of wet weeks things are much drier around here and there is no way we would handle 3 months of dry from now.
I ploughed ground on the 3rd of this month and it could have been sown immediately, despite having cows outwintered on it until a couple of weeks before hand.

I guess if things are wet enough that you could do so long without rain after such a dry year, it shows how different things are around the country.
We could handle it dry from June onwards if growing conditions were ok until then, but without at least a wet May, we would be screwed.

As annoying as it is the rain has done a lot of good here and was needed. Quite amazing how much we have had, photo from 5 mile away near the river

As I said we have had an average winter and 2018 had more rain than 2017. It just came at both ends of the year so we would be fine with a dry spell
