Who would refurb a Smiths Oil Gauge?

Is there anyone out there that will restore this? It's a diaphragm type I believe. Speedograph won't. Speedy cables will but want £400, The pressure reading on it goes straight to max so not that useful, with a calibrated test gauge the engine is 48psi, which is spot on. I'd rather not put a modern replica on it, was hoping there might be someone more sensible out there who can dismantle it, get rid of the bits behind the glass and replace the diaphragm or replace with a modern copies innards! (which is what speedy cables said they would do if it can't be recalibrated)

It's of a Massey Ferguson 65 - unless someone has a working one they'd sell laying about?

Plenty of replacements available on eBay at under £40 delivered so use that as a benchmark price..maybe get someone to try carefully swapping the internals if you doubt your own abilities 🤷🏻‍♂️

Somebody suggesting £400 is a polite way of saying “I don’t want the job, thank you.”

There are no genuine Smiths gauges like that for under £40 on ebay, as I said I want it original. The company in question restores gauges to a high standard and are well known for it. Just £400 is a bit out of my budget!

That’s why I called it a “replacement” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can’t have it both ways

Looks like you’ll have to get your hand in your pocket…

Find a MF 525 / 625 combine being scrapped, pretty sure the gauge is the same.
Yes, the same in a lot of MF tractors, got one exactly the same in my 35 and my TEF. Just put a "wanted" add on the Faceache Grey Fergie page, am sure someone will have one sat on a shelf or suchlike
