With a high buffering index wholecrop is best treated for a small amount of money per tonne to treat it's good insurance, which product umm ..................................... mine!

Hopefully wholecrop will contain high levels of starch and sugar which in turn are susceptible to aerobic spoilage.
A good inoculant inhibits yeasts and moulds which can be formed by starch & sugar therefore increasing the aerobic stability during feed out, mycotoxin levels are reduced too.
I think we hear less of an inoculant being used on either round baled grass or wholecrop because very few seem to be setup appropriately to apply the inoculant through a round baler.
