As a farmer I pay a huge amount of money to Organisations, Protecttion Rackets, Unions, Society's etc, to represent us to boost the British Farming PLC brand, which hopefully leads to better prices and publicity.

The reality in the last few weeks, has shown how badly these parasites are treating the very farmers that are their paymasters.
  1. The NBA endorsing that beef farmers should be fined £100 if their cattle aren't finished by 27 months, instead of championing the great advantages of slow maturing British Breeds that convert poor quality forage into prime beef.
  2. The Red Tractor Chairwoman voting to bring in lower standard foreign food, while pushing RT standards to an unnecessary high level.
  3. The NFU........who do some great work...........but counteract most of it by having vested interests and never appear to really grasp what their members require.
  4. AHDB, who have a huge marketing budget that appears to be spent on employing 'wet behind the ears' Graduates who are clueless. The rest of the money is paying for their pension pot !

Is it time to say enough is enough and have a mass boycott ?

The true facts are the poor will always buy the cheapest food without any care how, or where, it is produced. Others will buy cheap food, but will pay a kings ransom for the same produce if the supermarket shelves are emptying faster than they are replenished. This will still happen without the need for UK farmers paying £millions to people that are taking us for a ride.

I've been thinking the same this morning the 4 you have mentioned should be leading lights for our industry but have truly let us down the last couple of years.
I meet lots of people on the footpath that runs through the farm & 90% of conversations will turn to the environment, none of them have blamed cows for climate change & most say Agriculture has no representation.

  4. AHDB

Yet despite all the money those four groups get about the only organisation who is seen by the general public to be supporting and promoting UK farmers is McDonalds and to a lesser degree Lidl/Aldi.....

I’ve been telling people this for a while, especially when it comes to red tractor etc. They can come up with all the surveys they want but people will always vote with their wallets. Trouble is would enough people walk away.
