Seriously he GAVE it to father years ago .

It sounds like a very simple mis-understanding and/or memory warped by the decade passing.
You make out it was not worth much as 'scavenged' and has been in the workshop ever since.

They may have only meant you can have it, while I don't need it.
I assume there must be much more to the situation to cause such angst over something which I would consider insignificant.

I think you really need to build relations with your sister.

Same old same old , they do as they wish whilst others behave decently.
Folk have a warped sense of right ,wrong ,acceptable behaviour.

As someone else has said, start preparing now for the inevitable.

I trusted a parent to do the right thing when push came to shove, especially when they assured me many times that they would.

But they didn't and I paid the price.

Seems like you aint got a sister because he took her too!
Nope not at all.
When she sits at kitchen table after our mother's passing and DEMANDED to know if our father wants her to have her half ,when he's still alive it's not her right
she knows full well his will state all to be split equally.
She has attempted twice to get him to change his will and give her specifics in the will so it's hers.
It's not easy to do that or practical and his wish is to sell and split it.
