I have found all those 2nd hand mach dealers excellent, brocks, agri linc, Ellis etc etc
Too expensive but spot on to deal with.
This is the best... The last line.... ''Too expensive'' ... No, they just know how you pay fr good service. You ensure you make good money. I have recommended them to friends countless times and always will!. Top companies but you cant expect them to give it away and make no money

Bought some stuff of agrilinc last year, around Christmas this View attachment 894692
Turned up. Probably not a massive cost to them but was a nice surprise and gave a impression that they appreciated my business (probably add up over there list of customers)
The ''Brocks hamper'' use to go to every dealer they delt with. It was a christmas traditon for the parts department ( Goods in) to raid it before it got to the sales department!

That’s very genourous of them.i got a lovely box of fudge at Xmas after buying my inverta and they also sent me a hamper probably for posting lots of pics of machine working and singing it’s praises.they also used one of my photos in their advertising too.they will be my go to firm for any machinery I may require too.avenue agricultural the spares people would put bags of sweets in with earthwearing part deliveries too.that was also a great gesture.i know we end up paying fir it but it does make you feel valued I think.
Nick...
That reminded me of a dealer i once knew. Their new lorry turned up with a ''free'' jacket for the driver. The boss sent the jacket back and demanded a credit for the cost.......

I think coronavirus has really effected Cordex! So no fault of Dave and his team. But one thing is for sure he’s an absolute pleasure to deal with and can’t do enough for you. Will always be my product of choice because of Dave!
Dealt with Cordex for the first time a few months ago. I sent him a photo of the twine I’d used previously on our log bundler and they sent me 6 spoils of the equivalent. About £80 a spool cheaper than the bundler main dealer!

I don’t. You pay your money you take your choice. I’m just saying very helpful people. You can add Oakfields to that list.

It was more the notion that if you need a bit of new kit you just ring the main dealer and they send it over within a few days.
it's a fairly privileged position to be in.

Well we didn’t do anything in particular to get into it.

Back in 2016 we had never dealt with Lloyd’s in our life. Considered changing the main tractor which was a Massey. They brought out T7.210 autocommand, loved it. Bought one.

Mentioned a year later we were considering adding a front mower. They brought out front and rears to cut first cut. Bought the mower and had them fit PTO.

Considered adding our first manitou to the farm, got a demo, bought one.

Only thing we couldn’t get a demo of was a rear discharge spreader so we looked around at various options but went for Richard western anyways as they had one in at a keen price.

We’ve been lacking in new kit over the last 20 years. So it’s taken a bit of doing but they’ve genuinely helped just to get on with our own work a bit. Which is something I want to aim for. However as above. Only enquire about stuff if we are likely to buy.

Am I only the one that just rings them again? If I want a machine and they say they will get back to me I just ring them again. I’m the customer that wants it, in my view it’s not the salesmans job to sell it to me. I just need to know how much it is

I'm not really sure what point you're making. Are you not familiar with supply and demand?
In reference to post 129, how many times do you hear farmers say they sell at a loss but are still in business how does that work ? They get subsidy from the government which helps cover losses my point was if a dealer loses money what so they get to cover there loses...and yes I realise farmers spend money with dealers

No, I think people who sell at a loss repeatedly are morons, don't try to work out how it works because no one on this forum has yet fathomed it and there have been about a billion threads. All we know is that selling at a loss and continuing with such an enterprise likely involves one of these:

I've just got a 6 figure overdraft, that's how selling at a loss works for me.

The dealer sets the price so it's his/her choice to sell at a loss? Farmers don't set the price.

Do you understand?
