Having spent a rather bleak Christmas in Slovakia during my student days, from what I saw, I wouldn’t be super keen to emulate their independence experience.Have you been to Slovakia?
Czech Republic on the other hand...

I dont think any Native Americans or black slaves would welcome a return to being part of the colonies under the current Westminster government which was my point.I don't the Native Americans would share your view , the loyalist who were kicked out and the Blacks who were kept as slaves .

You don't really have a point unless you can tell me when the current Westminster government has declared War , committed slaughter and mass killings on another ethnic group ??
There were plenty of Scots in the cabinet at the time who made the decision too!Plenty wanted Blair done for War Crimes and an illegal war.. so there's your starting point

One and all of them, Unionists
But that's not the point. It was a Westminster govt doing nasty things..
I was thinking that. We had a great holiday in the touristy bits where there is some money sloshing around. Away from that some looked extremely poor. The Romano folk were below that living in abject poverty in shanty communes.Having spent a rather bleak Christmas in Slovakia during my student days, from what I saw, I wouldn’t be super keen to emulate their independence experience.

Current Government !!!
Every government in the past has things which are to a point questionable .

A war which was on the basis of being illegal, immoral. corrupt and fudgeing downright wrong? Questionable? Are you really asking if it was questionable?
Well the current government stated clearly they'd let their own people die
"Rather see bodies piled on the streets" was the Prime Minister's words.
Ok oh virtuous one ?
Who was more evil ? Saddem Hussain or Tony BLAIR /George W Bush ?
It's not about who was more evil, it's about legality. Blair told the UK and the rest of the world that they had weapons of mass destruction and that was why we were going to war. Lies!
Saddem Hussein had used poison gas before in the Iran -Iraq War he used Mustard , Tabun and Sarin Gas , he also gased Kurds living under Iraqi controlled area .
Intelligence is never certain ... since he had repeatedly used them before , it was a reasonable call to say he had weapons of mass destruction . The intelligence agencies were wrong , Tony Blair made the wrong decision .
But it is incredibly easy to be wise after the event .
It is widely recognised that Blair et al fudgeed up! The aftermath of the Iraq war? Jesus fluck! Not doubting Husseins regime was horrific but why was it our war? Why not the Italian army? or the Greek army?
As for intelligence never being certain-----------by fudge they would be certain if it was Russia, China, Germany etc
For fudge sakes the 'intelligence' was fabricated. Blair as PM never looked into the legitimacy of the intelligence. He then lied to Parliament to get their support in going to war - a war he had already agreed to with Bush.
Blair has never conceded he was wrong by going into Iraq.
Despite what Saddam had done previously, he was innocent when captured/killed... because there were no WMD's
I guess the Chilcot inquiry was just too much for you
Saddem killed millions of people invaded two neighbouring countries ( Iran and Kuwait ) ...and you think he's Innocent ?????
