Windows or Apple

Not an appleholic. Still use an old Samsung flip phone so not one for fashion but got an iPad and 3 others in the house with iPhones and apple stuff just seems to work or is easily figured out in a logical way.

Windows PC always seems so unuser friendly in comparison. Windows 10 update pretty much final straw for me. PC never been right since.
Fairly certain next one here will be a MacBook. No need for life to be as complicated as Microsoft always seems to make it.

I Ike Apple stuff. We all have various iPhone models, and I sit and browse on this iPad most nights. iOS is just so intuitive compared to Android IMO.

However, I would not consider paying double to get a Mac, just because fashion is to shun MS. I had to (begrudgingly) get a laptop for my lad a few months back too and I didn't even consider the overpriced fashion statements. Label chasing is certainly not a lesson I want my boy to learn, but each to their own.

I've had Apple computers since before Apple was a "fashion statement", have never owned anything different. I don't buy it for that reason, I like the user experience and the fact I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it is a bonus.

But your daughter will mostly want one because they are much cooler than pc's

I've never understood fashion at all really, but can sort of understand that some folks want to wear clothes/hair etc that make them look attractive.

However, I really can't understand why a piece of electronic equipment can be more 'cool' than another.

Work gave me a Ms Surface Pro recently. Must say I didn’t appreciate it at first as I wanted a standard laptop. I’m a heavy office suite user. Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Now I wouldn’t want to go back to a laptop. Slim and light for hauling around. Fires up real fast. Keyboard takes a bit of getting used to, but fine after a while.
Great job!

Currently looking to renew office pc, which is running windows vista . Got son a windows 10 pc for xmas and not a big fan of the new os . We all have apple phones ,tablets and a mac book pro ,so thinking of getting a iMac for office. Question is can windows files be transferred onto a mac and work and is anybody running Gatekeeper on a mac with no issues.???

Yeh just run Parallels (or whatever equivalent virtualisation program you fancy). So you just boot up as normal into your Mac and simply run W10 (or W8 or Vista or Linux or whatever you want really) and windows programs from within Mac OS. Then close when your done. Takes about 10 seconds to get W10 running when my Mac is on.

Alternatively you can install Windows natively on the machine “dual boot” when you start off, but I prefer being able to dip in and dip out of Windows (like any other program) without having to reboot my laptop all the time.
