Remember at Greenmount them talking about trials of 8stone an acre in August and rising up weekly to “normal” sowing date. After last year would be well worth a few acres of a trial

Wouldn't cut it back much. Maybe 5%, don't think I would go 10%. Depends what you normally do and what variety, etc. Hybrids are already very low.

W barley tends to tiller well before winter at normal sowing date. So sowing early won't really alter much?

300 seeds/m2 maximum. 250 probably sufficient that early. Edited to add; that's for a conventional variety. Hybrids are 200 seeds/m2 and I wouldn't cut rates for those even sown early.

What are you doing to mitigate the BYDV risk? Watch for mildew and manganese deficiency.

I drilled some for harvest 23 on the 15th September and it was mega crop but it was over a foot tall by Christmas and a mushy mess after some frosts in January but the tillers where still there it was the old leaves that were lost.

I think I was about 150 kg/ha normally I'm 185.
