Winter bean herbicide

What other post emergence herbicides are there for broad leafed weeds in beans other than bentazone???

PGRO, they say none, so it is down to a thumping good dose of glyphosate after the preceding crop and a robust and expensive stack of residuals.

Organic growers whack in the hoe at 2nd and 5th node stages - I would be interested to know how successful that is.

Gave in and Banged the pre em on yesterday morning . Did really need to use up the forban , I ll have think off something else .

Don't let volunteer beans get big in a cereal crop. I'd sooner have them out in the autumn than have to deal with them in the spring where they can shade grassweeds. Used to put a dab of something in with the old BYDV spray, if you could get on the land to put it on of course.

If there is no grassweed issue, then you can leave them until the spring where they are just as easily removed.

Early days yet I suggest Mr Noo. Keep us informed. I await the report next March 30th with interest as that will be the key report. Cheers.
Hope it should be into wheat by then, fingers crossed, although looking at the number i knocked out with the header when combining and the plants already established, it is tempting to leave and see what becomes of it!!

Yes, I sprayed vol beans and manner of other stuff with 2 lts plus adj ahead of drilling wheat. All other stuff died away, wheat emerged, beans still there. Hmm I’m thinking, regarding beans... another couple of weeks passed, beans gone - well, of course now some new ones coming🙄

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
