Anybody in the Chesire area or not too far off growing winter oats? Looking to buy 3 ton for a bit of a project.

I think I’m right in saying there aren’t any ‘true” winter varieties of oats. They just have a better windy hardiness, hence why you can sow winter varieties in the spring and they’ll still set seed as they don’t require any vernalisation. Good hard winter can kill winter oats as I’m sure they’ll be people on here with experience of. I’ve had Mascani brown off to stumps but thankfully came back..
