Well apparently the winter rainfall for this year has set a new all time record. Here in SE Cornwall my total for Dec - Feb was 744.0mm
Data as follows
December 228.0mm
January 271.2mm
February 244.8mm

Anyone had more?

And March seems to be going the same way:cry::banghead: it was wet again today!!

These figures are remarkable. It's not until you hear it from the 'horses mouth' that you realise how bad it has been. An average annual rainfall for us is 650-700mm.

This year we've had

108 - Oct
40 - Nov
40 - Dec
125 - Jan
approx. 50mm (need to tally it up) for Feb.

And I thought it was wet. I really hope things start to dry up for you guys!

511mm to date this year, I don't know what is "average " rainfall any more! Met Office figures only give a yearly average of 655mm between 1971 and 2000 for Shropshire, must get busy with the ark.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
