We have a local contractor who won’t employ any one who carn’t wire a 7 pin plug or socket as they usually damage them & then say the lights won’t work .

Our farm fitter used to work for the council. One Christmas they came back a bit worse for wear from their Christmas party, and he had to replace a 7 pin plug on a trailer. He persevered for the best part of an hour, and finally finished it, just to see his mate had cut the cable 2 feet back!

We had a trip to the New Holland factory a few years back, I'll never forget one bloke taking aerials out of a box with Chinese writing all over it, and putting them in cellophane bags with 'made in UK' on them.

Why doesn't the op, just take a multimeter, or even a wired up bulb and just find the polarity of the pins from what's supplied by the socket fitted to the tractor! Simple!
