fair call,Shouldn't do. In order to sag the glue will have to fail. I did it on my degree course but can't remember the real reason
We did a test where we made a gluelam beam and then loaded it with weight for a few weeks and it never moved where as a normal piece of wood the same size had bowed
how did you make one?Shouldn't do. In order to sag the glue will have to fail. I did it on my degree course but can't remember the real reason

nice ,must dig out me photos ,made a shepherds hut for a chap last year ,fully insulated etc ,similar to ones shed
are you drilling the zeds thenjust finished a 60 x 30 shed and used 1.6mm galv purlins through out .................... NEVER EVER AGAIN , took about 600 drill bits and almost two broken arms over 3 days , in comparison did a 3 link lean to last year in half a morning
yea drilled each one , its a roof over an existing outside silage clamp that just wasnt bang on square so couldnt take the chance of getting them punchedare you drilling the zeds then

life is a unforgiving learning curveshould have got slots punched, about 100mm long
A mag drill will do them with a metal plate behind to make the magnet stick properly.life is a unforgiving learning curve
clamp zed in place on cleat ,get hole saw with no pilot drill bit in the arbour drill hole through purlin with plenty oil squirted on to keep it cool, they drill very easy start slow and keep drill speed down so you don't burn out drill bityea drilled each one , its a roof over an existing outside silage clamp that just wasnt bang on square so couldnt take the chance of getting them punched
