Worrying use of drones

Right , had an electrician out today and whilst talking about cameras around the yard he mentioned he had been fitting systems to a number of stock farms.

His words were that these farms have had footage of their stock yards put up onto the internet via animal rights idiots via hidden cameras.

Whilst asking how they have come to do this he mentioned the use of drones flying right over the yard x amount of weeks previous in a now thought of recognisance role , funny enough something we had happen a number of weeks ago mid Sunday afternoon , when spotted it took off right up and then over next doors old poultry unit.

One of the farmers caught three very well spoken people in his yard one evening with balaclavas on , thought no more of it until the footage was found.

So beware , not only do the lovely Irish caravan club , Eastern European’s , it seems the lettuce cuddling brigade are now using drones , ffs.

We got fingered to the planners via the use of a drone ..........
3 retrospectives later, we are a little wiser

BUT it is also worth mentioning that Google Earth has very recent updates so we would probably have been fingered anyway

JFDI doesn't cut the mustard any more.

They don't just use drones though. I joined a FB group that was set up for the purpose of sharing pics of abandoned old tractors, seemed harmless enough, and some of the lads on there take things a bit far. They take photos of the stuff parked round peoples' yards, presumably when they are out working on farms, put it on faceache, and then subject the farmer to a torrent of abuse about "Typical stock farmers, shouldn't be allowed near a machine, selfish old sod won't sell/give it to me, rather let it rot..." . That attitude really hacks me off and many people now seem to think it OK to stick their noses in other peoples' business. There is also a growing sense of entitlement, where my need is greater than yours so I deserve it even if you own it.

Just found out I have been the victim of this. Drone was clocked in the area a couple of months ago late at night so I went out and could see it in the distance. Been Appleby fair this last weekend and a gate on a field shelter in the middle of nowhere has gone missing. Would never have thought it would have walked as over a mile to the nearest road over some quite tricky terrain. I know folk are about because they keep trying to start the MB Tracs.

I found a drone in a carrot field we were harvesting a few weeks back, it was sat undamaged in a wheeling so I managed to get the memory card out. Looking at the footage on it we decided it belonged to a estate agent or similar as all videos and pictures were of houses. What really shocked me was it had filmed me and a team of lads when we were fencing a railway line near a house it had been over. That was back in February and 40 miles away .
