Would this system work with articulated tractors?

Yes, its a DTS with a RABE (licence production of Sulky in different color) front hopper.

The silage corn we have drilled there didnt established that nice, as it was really late in some special circumstances and we had huge problems with Slugs that i recognized too late - i think i would need some spreader that is metering slug pellets etc. Into the seed pipe - i think that would have changed a lot by minimum input with pellets..

Really strange that iam over here looked with big eyes on your planter (really like mechanic drill and John Deere disc style), as it is nearly imposible or affordable to get kit like that in germany ;)

Is that directed toward me? You mean my deere 1590 drill? You can make a 740A mechanical with about any drill box you have sitting in the fence row there.

Yes, i thought about your drillboxes. No way to get them here, as we have to transport with 3m max.

What would you apply with the front hopper?

Do you have any drill boxes even of narrow width? You can turn them length wise on top of a folding air drill frame if you want mechanical metering without air. The angle of repose for many grains is about 30 degrees. You just have to mount the drill box up higher off of the frame a bit. If you had 2 drill boxes, you could have one service the left and one service the right sides.

I would use a front box for dry fertilizer.

We already have a 3m kuhn siterra mechanic drill Box attached to an older Power harrow - i thought it would be usefull or more flexible as we have a lot a smaller fields in very changing shapes.

I have to be proved wrong in this case -so will sell this combination. Some major problem is all that technical stuff we have on the yard - iam focusing now on selecting whats still needed.

We use the front hopper also for different seeds, slug pellets and i tried some elemental sulfur that way -only Crop we would use fertilizer now is silage corn and there i want to use a planter with singulation.

Osr could be thankfull to DAP, espacially when late drilled - but i cant See a real demand and no really huge scope for "candy".
